Biography
Helena Aurelia is a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist working in abstract painting and handbuilt ceramics. Guided by intuition, embodiment, and emotional resonance, her work explores the unseen currents of human experience through fluid movement, texture, and form.
Using acrylics on canvas, Helena creates layered, intuitive compositions defined by gesture, atmosphere, and depth. Her ceramic practice offers a grounding counterbalance — slower, tactile, and deeply rooted in presence and process. Across both mediums, her work is infused with energy, reflection, and emotional resonance.
Alongside her artistic practice, Helena has a background in complex software and AI-driven environments, specializing in systems thinking, communication, and human-centered design. That experience continues to inform her work through an ongoing exploration of structure and intuition, technology and humanity, and the balance between performance and presence.
Her work has been exhibited in Toronto and Vancouver, including exhibitions at The Gallery George, Twist Gallery, and the Gardiner Museum through Fusion Clay & Glass. Her ceramic works have also been featured within the Gardiner Shop.
